Lỗi này có thể xảy ra nếu các mục đăng ký và các trình điều khiển cho phần cứng điều khiển lưu trữ tin đại chúng trong máy tính sao lưu không cài đặt trong Windows XP.
Cho điện tử thiết bị tích hợp (IDE) bộ điều khiển, có rất nhiều khác nhau chip bộ có sẵn, ví dụ như Intel, Thông qua, và hứa hẹn. Mỗi chip bộ đã định danh Plug-n-Play khác nhau (PnP-ID).
